7 Empowering Lifestyle Habits You Can Start NOW! Life is short. Bold, simple, and very, very true. When it reaches its definite conclusion, no one wants to look back with regret and say, “where did all those years go?” (I know I don’t!)

That’s why it’s so, so, SO important to make sure you’re enjoying the life you live, not merely passing through it. I want you to make impactful new lifestyle habits — habits that allow you to make the most of every second because — hey — you can’t get that second back! I want you to nourish yourself with positivity, love, and a lifestyle that’s worth living.

Begin with the Body – Your Temple of Power

1. Hydrate yourself

And I mean drinking good, clean, water — yes, you can enjoy the occasional glass of wine or cup of coffee — but high-quality H20 needs to be the mainstay of your liquid consumption. Our bodies are mostly water and if we’re constantly starved for it, we’re not living optimally. When you’re dehydrated, your skin looks dry, you mind feels lethargic, and your overall view of life is **blah**. Rebel Health Tribe members have access to one of the best water filters on the planet – [the Berkey](http://rebelhealthtribe.com/discount/berkey-water-filter/) – you are worth it!

2. Make time to cook

Let’s ignore the nutritional stuff for a minute… cooking is a highly meditative, highly natural component of the human experience. We have adapted to prepare our own food for consumption and have been doing so for millennia. You need to cook for yourself at least a few times per week. Nutritionally speaking, home cooking is the only way to be the master and commander of your dietary ship — you control all the ingredients, cooking times, and preparation methods. When you take control of how you fuel your body, you take control of your body.

3. Make physical activity a part of your everyday lifestyle

It doesn’t matter if it’s a trip to the gym or a casual 30-minute walk — stretch your muscles, move your body and get your blood flowing. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Bike to work rather than drive. They’re little lifestyle changes that can dramatically impact your quality of life!

Then, Move to your mind

4. Improve your Relationships

Take the time to improve your relationships especially with your loved ones.

When we start neglecting our relationships, we start neglecting an inherent element of our humanity — we are communal creatures, not loners. To be both mentally and physically healthy, we desperately need inter-personal interaction. If you’ve been skipping meals with your family, if you’ve been ignoring the requests of friends to spend time together — **STOP**. Find 15 minutes to grab coffee with a companion. Leave the office a litter earlier to have dinner with your spouse or kids.

If you don’t purposefully dedicate time to your relationships, they’ll deteriorate to the point they no longer exist.

5. Practice gratitude

Are you living? Are your breathing? That’s already something to be thankful for!

Start dedicating a few minutes of each day (I like to do it right when I wake up or just before bed) to the conscious practice of gratitude. Pause, reflect, and give thanks.
When you do, you’ll feel better about your life, and the world that surrounding you.

6. Opt for forgiveness

Seek forgiveness from others, fiercely forgive others, and fight to forgive yourself.

When you live a life without forgiveness, you live a life laden with anger and resentment. Anger and resentment create disharmony within our hearts and minds — disharmony that has physical manifestations in the way of increased blood pressure, cortisol, and anxiety.

Anger is a cage, and forgiveness is the key — use it to set yourself free.

7. Find new hobbies

Life is all about learning — from the moment we’re born and we learn to breathe, the moment we expire and finally experience death, life is one long learning process.

As humans, we LOVE to learn. When we master a new hobby or skill, it is an incredibly enriching experience, one that makes us feel monumentally better about ourselves.

The learning process associated with developing new hobbies has been show to improve self-confidence, self-reliance, and overall mental health. Dedicate part of your life to knowledge and discovery — your mind (and body) will thank you later on.
