Day 30. Tuesday, January 5th.
9:16am – Just started my second work block of the day. I did almost all of my morning routine today. It was a little unorthodox morning, as Mira is off, but had to get up early and we cleaned up a bit because her hair dresser is now here doing her hair in our house!
We’ve got some kind of “Category 4 Pacific Storm” named Diane rolling in today.
Took my proteolytic enzymes and Liver Life (Bioray) when I woke up. I’m surprisingly not very sore from my workout yesterday, which is great. Last time I did the swings, I was super sore for like 4 days – so a combination of improved form, body awareness, recovery yoga, arnica gel, and topical magnesium definitely helped!
Today is a half day of work, followed by a lunch meeting with Rhonda Fuller, our awesome local kettlebell trainer, to discuss filming some training/kettlebell videos with her for our site! Exciting stuff!
11:05am – Just finished a little “brunch”, I’ll call it. Some slow-cooked beef roast that was cooked with sliced leeks and some pineapple habanero BBQ sauce, overnight, in the dutch oven. It’s VERY good, and super easy! I’ll be able to have time to create/post recipes once this project is done… but for right now, the posts are already time consuming and I don’t want to stress myself out or overwhelmed!

I threw in an Asian pear with it… a small half meal for me, as I’ve got the business lunch at 12:30. That’s much later than I generally eat my first meal and didn’t want to experience a blood sugar crash of any kind, or any other type of hunger-related effects. So mini brunch it is! We’ll be meeting at my standard business lunch spot, the OB Noodle House, where I’ll more than likely have a big bowl of Pho to go with the cool, rainy weather!
12:11pm – A somewhat frustrating work block due to the hassle of setting up a USPS and Stamps.com account. We’re going to be taking over the processing, packing, and shipping of Megaspore in the next week or two (was previously drop-shipped by Physicians Exclusive). This is awesome for us, as we can control the entire process and order in bigger quantity – but I’m not known for my patients with complicated and glitchy account creations and tech stuff. Exercise in patience! Your spores will soon be coming from our Rebel Health Ninja, Jessica, in Virginia!
Gonna’ take a quick little break before walking over to Noodle House for the meeting! As a side, Mira completed a beautiful mandala today… check it out!

6:47pm – Noodle House meeting with Rhonda went great! She’s super interesting, knowledgeable, and has 20+ years experience in the training and wellness field. We talked kettlebells, CHEK Institute (she was around for the start of the organization where I got my beginnings in the industry), surfing, skydiving, Rebel Health Tribe, what she can do for us, and how we can help her. I had a bowl of pho for lunch, with some unsweetened iced tea.
There’s a Pacific Storm (category 4, whatever that means) that rolled in today, so it’s been raining ALL day. There’s massive flooding here in Ocean Beach, and people were riding stand up paddleboards down the street! Hopefully not too much damage for too many people! I got home from lunch around 2:30 to find water coming in along our wall. No bueno! Hopefully the landlord and fix-it guy figure it out and complete the necessary repairs soon. Water in the walls can = mold, which is very bad!
It probably rained as much today as it had in the previous 15 months we’ve lived here… combined! It’s good, because southern California needs about 300 consecutive more days like that, but all at once tends to overwhelm, flood, cause mudslides, and other dangerous situations here.
As is the pattern I’ve noticed, in the late afternoon (when it’s getting dark), my ambition and energy levels tend to drop significantly. We laid around and relaxed for about an hour (Mira had acupuncture today, so super chilled out) – and then she did a kettlebell workout and I did a little core workout I put together. I really didn’t feel like it, but she prodded me just enough to spur some action!
For dinner, I had the last of the leftover shrimp stir-fry and cooked a big piece of ling cod (fish) in the oven for Mira (and leftovers)! It’s before 7pm now. Plenty of time for us to clean up, do the dishes, and relax for the night. Perhaps some planning for our upcoming trip to Nicaragua and a magnesium foot bath!
I tend to get anxiety on these half days of work, because I don’t get a lot done – but I’m learning to let that go. Mira works the next two days, before we go to Death Valley (hiking) for 4 days on Friday. I’m gonna’ bust out some serious efficiency and crush my to-do list!
New website roll-out should be very soon! It’s so awesome, can’t wait for everyone to see it!
