Day 1: Choosing to Love Myself and Own My Life. If you’d like to follow my journey and/or get caught up on all previous posts, CLICK HERE to be taken to the Superhuman Project Page! Day 41. Saturday, January 16th. Mira worked, so we were up early. (As was the baby upstairs, at like 5:30 trampling around.) Luckily for us, that’s when we get up anyway. Combined with the late night the night before (baby) and the ridiculous thundering at 5:30am, I finally emailed the landlord a long letter about our frustrations. We’ll see what happens. Mira’s parents were arriving in town (airport is less than 10 minutes away) at 1:45pm and my parents were arriving around 6:45. They all were joining us for dinner – but that’s later. First, after Mira went to go to work, I did an abbreviated morning routine (short meditation, shortened dog walk, journal – maybe 30 minutes in all) due to trying to cram full work days into half days pretty much for the next week. I was exhausted have two nights in a row of shortened sleep coupled with 5:30am wake-ups. I can eat crappy food, and I don’t feel great, but nothing destroys me like short sleep. Anything under 7 hours and I’m pretty hungover the entire next day. This was two nights in a row of shortened sleep… so I was like a zombie. It’s a good thing I took notes, because I wouldn’t remember what I did otherwise! (Writing this on Monday) A few blocks of work in the morning were primarily revolved around working on a massive database of all of our professional contributors (blog articles, videos, webinars, interviews, podcasts, etc…), which we’ll be able to use to streamline communication, better connect them with each other, and will help me organize the affiliate army we’re unleashing this week! What is an affiliate army? Well… we’re about to launch a system where everyone can get paid for sharing free content (articles, videos, podcasts, recipes, interviews, webinars, etc…) on our site. Most people in our position stick with professional affiliates with huge email lists, etc… but we’re going to open it up to everyone (even you!). Our Tribe shares our stuff all over, and we want to reward them for doing so! This database I’m putting together will be a very helpful tool in organizing our professional contacts, making sure we know how we can help them, and making sure we’re having regular, fresh content for you, our audience! If you’re interested, request to join the Rebel Health Tribe Affiliate Group on Facebook! After a quick meal of bacon, leftover taco meat, leftover chicken, and some Japanese sweet potato, I jumped on the phone with the founders/owners of Rajuvenation, makers of some incredible raw food bars that will now be featured in our Rebel Health Tribe Discount Club (premium members). The club is really starting to grow, and we’re very excited about all the companies jumping on board! They’re also CHEK Practitioners and may become contributors of articles and other content on our site as well! Great stuff! (I love my job) Mira got home during my phone call, because she got “flexed” or cut early from work – which was great! She was able to surprise her parents and pick them up from the airport. I think I did some more work on the database after she went there (I barely remember, was a walking zombie). Around 5pm, I did a little kettlebell training session, consisting of around 150 swings and 40 snatches with a 24kg bell. I really felt worn down and it’s not good to train hard when exhausted… but I wanted to do something. I took a shower and started dinner. I roasted 2 spaghetti squash and made some Italian style red sauce w/ grass-fed beef, pastured pork, bell peppers (multiple colors), onions, garlic, and some spices, salt, pepper, and hot sauce. We poured it over the spaghetti squash, and it was delicious! (Sorry, forgot pictures all day) The six of us hung out until around 9pm, when they left and we got ready for bed. Another early morning the next morning. My sleep has been suffering the last few days, which isn’t good – but nutrition is on track, I’m being relatively productive with work, snuck in a short but effective workout, and I didn’t lose my cool or erupt in rage at all regarding the loud thundering baby upstairs. It’s nice having family here, but does wreak havoc on any sort of a routine/schedule. I used to allow that to frustrate me, stress me out, and cause anxiety – which probably made me not very fun to be around. Instead, I’m just letting it go and taking a “I’ll worry about it later” attitude. Later will likely never come, and I’ll probably just not worry at all! We were asleep around 9:45, with another 5:30 wake-up coming on Sunday!]]>
